Adding OmniRouter to Windows Startup

This how to article will walk you through adding the OmniPACS router application to your Windows startup configuration.

Updated over a year ago

Today, the OmniPACS router is not automatically added to the Windows startup folder at the time of installation and requires you to manually start the application.

When added to Windows Startup, you will no longer have to manually start the router.

Below is a guide on how to do this with Windows 10 and Windows 11 PC's.

Windows 10

To add a program to startup in Windows 10, follow these steps:

  1. Open File Location:

    • Right-click on the program you want to run at startup.

    • Select More, and then choose Open file location.

    • This will open the location where the shortcut to the app is saved.

  2. Access the Startup Folder:

    • Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog.

    • Type shell:startup and hit Enter.

    • This will open the Startup folder.

  3. Create a Shortcut:

    • Copy the shortcut to the app from the file location.

    • Paste it into the Startup folder.

Windows 11

If you’re using Windows 11, the process is similar. You can also manage startup programs through the Settings menu. Simply go to Start > Settings > Apps > Startup and toggle the apps you want to run on startup
